Creativity	Poor Dancer shows almost no creativity in their movement phrase.	Fair Dancer shows little use of creativity within chosen movement.	Good Dancer mostly shows an understanding of creative concepts and demonstrates a good sense of choreographic style and ability to project.	Excellent Dancer shows outstanding quality of movement giving great detail to interesting movement and great sense of creativity.
Focus/Energy	Poor Dancer fails to stay focused, lacks concentration and puts forth little effort.	Fair Dancer appears somewhat focused yet performs with little energy.	Good Dancer performs exercise by staying focused and utilizes strength and energy.	Excellent Dancer performs exercise fully focused and demonstrates with ease and concentration.
Motif is expanded on	Poor Dancer doesn't appear to have understood concept of the assignment.	Fair Dancers demonstrates a weak movement phrase. Was not well planned or rehearsed.	Good Dancer appears to be well rehearsed and gives a good performance. Characterization was demonstrated but not quite developed.	Excellent Dancer appears well rehearsed and gives a strong performance where the audience is moved with emotion.
Technique	Poor Dancer pays no attention to proper body alignment, and technique during the performance.	Fair Dancer demonstrates some understanding of proper technique.	Good The dancer technique is correct for their dance level during some of the solo but not consistently.	Excellent The dancer's technique is correct for their dance level throughout the entire dance phrase.
Varies in dance elements	Poor The dance rarely has timing, spacing and energy changes.	Fair The dance has some timing, spacing and energy changes.	Good The dance has a good amount of timing, spacing and energy changes.	Excellent The dance has the perfect amount of timing, spacing and energy changes.
