Concert Scales: Bb, Eb, F, Ab, C	Exceeds Performed scale while accurately producing all eight pitches in ascending & descending order in tune w/correct arpeggios. Scale is memorized.	Meets Performed scale while producing all eight pitches in ascending & descending order in tune w/arpeggios - Made 1-2 mistakes, but was able to self correct. Scale is memorized.	Partially Meets Performed scale while accurately producing some of the pitches and arpeggios - Made more than 2-3 mistakes and needed to correct themselves. Scalepartially memorized.	Does Not Meet Was not able to perform scale producing accurate pitches or arpeggios correctly. Continuously needed to play again. Is not memorized.	Bellow Scale has not been heard for a grade.
Concert Bb Scale: Fingering/Tone Quality	Exceeds Performed scale with correct fingering in ascending & descending order with great tone quality and without mistake. Scale is memorized.	Meets Performed scale using correct fingerings in ascending & descending order with good tone quality. Made 1-2 mistakes, but was able to self correct. Scale is memorized.	Partially Meets Performed some of the scale with correct fingering in ascending and descending order with fair tone quality . Made more than 2-3 mistakes and needed to correct themselves. Scale may or may not be memorized.	Does Not Meet Is not able to perform scale with correct fingerings in ascending & descending order with poor tone quality. Continuously needed to play again and readjust. Is not memorized.	Bellow Scale has not been heard for a grade.
Rhythm/Steady Tempo	Exceeds The student kept a steady beat/tempo without variance from beginning to end. Student played scale with eighth and/or sixteenth notes rhythms at 60+ bpm.	Meets The student kept a steady beat/tempo with little to no variance from beginning to end. Student chose a tempo that matched their technical ability. Student played scale with quarter notes at 60+ bpm.	Partially Meets The student varied the steady beat/tempo. Student chose a tempo that did not match their technical ability. Student played scale with quarter notes and 8th notes.	Does Not Meet The student was unable to keep steady/even beat. Student chose a tempo that did not match their technical ability. Student played scale with varying rhythms.	Bellow Scale has not been heard for a grade.
Posture	Exceeds When playing, the student demonstrates all the elements of proper posture while in a sitting position and standing position.	Meets When playing, the student demonstrates all the elements of proper posture while in a sitting position.	Partially Meets When playing, the student demonstrates some, but not all, of the elements of proper posture.	Does Not Meet When playing, the student DOES NOT demonstrate any elements of proper posture.	Bellow Scale has not been heard for a grade.
