Keying Mastery/Hand Position	Excellent Student keeps fingers on the home row keys 90% or more of the time while typing with arched hands.	Good Student keeps fingers on the home row keys 89% - 80% or more of the time while typing with arched hands.	Average Student keeps fingers on the home row keys 79% - 70% of time while typing with partially arched hands.	Poor The student keeps fingers on the home row keys 69% - 50% of the time with rarely arched hands.	Below Expectations The student keeps fingers on the home row keys 49% or less of the time with no arched hands.
Eyes on the screen	Excellent Student keeps eyes on the material to be typed 90-100 % of the time. The student does not look at the monitor or keyboard.	Good Student keeps eyes on the material to be typed 89-80 % of the time. The student does not look at the monitor or keyboard.	Average Student keeps eyes on the material to be typed 79-70 % of the time. The student does not look at the monitor or keyboard.	Poor The student keeps eyes on the material to be typed 69 % - 50% of the time. The student does not look at the monitor or keyboard.
