Art Project Rubric 
The student will create an original work of art that depicts the major theme (assigned) from the novel. Drawings, paintings, and sculptures should be no more than half of a poster board. In addition to the artwork, the student will need one paragraph to explain the piece explaining its relevance to the novel.

The artwork is neat and helps the viewer to understand the author's style, tone, and mood .

Fair

Student's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience has difficulty hearing. Reads directly from explanation cards.
Poor

Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, speaks too quietly for audience to hear. Reads directly from explanation cards.
