Spanish Midterm

This is the rubric used to score the midterm essay exam.

An introductory Oral Presentation in Spanish using family member words (both immediate and extended family) and the use of the possessive adjective.

You will design a menu for a new restaurant in a Spanish-speaking country. You must give your restaurant a name (in Spanish) and create the menu entirely in Spanish. The menu should include at least four complete meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a list of three or more beverages and three or more desserts. Be sure to use vocabulary we have learned in class. The menu should be visually pleasing with with easily identifiable headings, prices, and graphics/color photos.

The students are to create a children's book using the story kit iPad application. The story must be in Spanish using the preterit , pero y sino, "hace",negative expressions,possessive pronouns,reflexive verbs as well as vocabulary I and II. You can choose a fiction character or your own family ( you must have at least 3 characters/heroes for the story). Tell us the daily routine of the family for the 7 days of the past week. The book will have 7 pages with illustration each and a cover page with the title.Each page will consist of an illustration and 3 sentences. The book will be presented and you narrate to us the story WITHOUT READING por favor! Be creative, you can create adventures, dramas and make it suspenseful. Remember your book should entice little one to read.

A rubric to assess a student's abiltity to tell a story, or read a children's book to an audience in Spanish.

You are to create a book for children in which you use the verbs Saber and Conocer. There should be ONE sentence per page with an illustration. The story maybe hand written and drawn or computer generated. The purpose of the story is to show the difference between Saber and Conocer.

Students will create a poster containing 10 sets of sentences. Each set will contain a saber sentence along with a similar "matched" sentence using conocer. Students then illustrate the pair.
