Students will create a visual dictionary using vocabulary words. In this dictionary they must provide the definition of the word or concept, a visual picture or drawing of the word, and an example (sentence or mathematical) of the word or concept . Students will present their words to the class.

Student demonstrates understanding of line symmetry by creating an image that is symmetric to half an image chosen by the student from a magazine. Student labels key points on the drawing to facilitate explanation.Student explains the process of creating the drawing.

Using graphing software, students explore families of graphs: absolute value function, rational function, quadratic function, cubic function and square root function. Students have a set of questions to answer after manipulating each graph and will write the general form of each equation for each graph.
