Research and presentation about a Spanish speaking artist

EQ: How do we learn about other cultures by looking at their art? Students gain an awareness of Hispanic/Latino culture in the United States and in Latin America by studying Latin American artists and their works.

An in-class presentation in collaboration with two or three other students using the preterite, imperfect, present perfect, and future tenses to form a conversation in Spanish about this past year and coming year.

Create a skit that takes place in a restaurant. One or two customers order food and beverages from a waiter. Each character must have a minimum of 7 lines, memorized, and all in Spanish.

Prepare a presentation for the class using comparatives of lesser degree, greater degree, equal degree, and irregulars.You must have as well relative and absolute superlatives (when no comparisons are given).Make sure to have at least 1 slide per category mentioned and that your presentation has a theme.

The purpose of this unit is to facilitate student learning about the world in which we live. Students will receive a 'International Travel Packety' packet to complete. The student will pretend that he/she is going to visit a minimum for 8-10 days and will make round trip travel arrangements to and from their assigned country. To be prepared for the trip, the student will use technology to conduct internet research in order to be able to answer questions about their assigned country’s resources, culture, government, religion, geography, political atmosphere, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. After the student has gathered all of the research, they will synthesize the information and write a report about their country and then create a power point presentation to go with their report.

Students compose 30 sentences about themselves as a little boy/girl, now, and in the future. Included should be birthdate, physical characteristics, likes and dislikes, family/friends, hobbies, travel, interests, educational, career and life plans. (10 Past Tense, 10 Present Tense and 10 Immediate Future Tense). These sentences are to be typed in English and Spanish and submitted in the form of a poster or booklet. Illustrations, drawings or clipart should be shown relating to the sentences.

You have been assigned one of the provinces of Spain to research and present your information to the class in presentation form, which includes a handout and a visual representation (bulletin board). You will need to include information about the flag, food, lifestyle, geography, history and other aspects of culture that are specific to their region. Each presentation needs to include a visual aid that will serve as part of the overall map of Spain. The presentation must be 4-5 minutes in length. Everything must be in Spanish.

The school fashion show was a hit! Your school newspaper wants you to write a review for the next issue. There is room to include two pictures and write-ups. You may use two outfits you tried on at the mall on Jour 6 or any other pictures of your choice. Put together your newspaper layout. Then write a detailed description of your outfits.

Students are to research and write a 4 paragraph paper, with a timeline, and a web outline. The biography is on an famous person. These biographies include information on the person's early life, what contributions they made to society, 2-3 interesting or unique facts about the person, and the students own reflections about the person and their contributions and what they have learned.
