Documentary Photo Essay Project
The purpose of this assignment to demonstrate proficiency of visual literacy by creating a photo essay that communicates a compelling story. A series of 10 photos with written captions must be used.The student must photograph the images used. All images show a clear connection to the story message. Proficiency of on-line tools is also assessed.

Stop Motion Animation
The student will create a short clip using Stop Motion techniques. The movie will be a PSA (Public Service Announcement). Each group will select an issue to create an "animated message/story" in 1 minute. Stop motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.
