A grading rubric for nonfiction book report projects

This is a book report on a nonfiction (true) book.

This book report will contain: 1st : Title and author of the book and a complete description of the main characters. 2nd: Descriptive Settings should be included (When and where did the story takes place?). 3rd:The main events should be included (What happened in the story?). 4th: Why did you like or dislike the book? 5th: Would you recommend this book? 6th: Should include a summary of the author's overall message and/or the theme of the book.

Rubric for alternatives to book reports or traditional book reports

This rubric is used to score students' book projects based on the novel Coraline. Book projects were chosen by each student based upon their strengths.

Students are to complete monthly current events using the following rubric. The monthly event must have occurred during that specific month. Example: The October current event MUST be an event that took place in October. The due date will always be the last week of the month.

Students choose a topic and create a powerpoint presentation within the template provided filling in the content information

Students determine two main idea of two articles, as well as, 3 details that support the main ideas of each passage.

You will be researching and presenting (via powerpoint or prezi) one event leading up to the American Revolution. You will need to include: When did it take place? Where did it take place? Why did it happen? Who was involved (general groups and specific major players involved)? What happened and the reactions to it? How did it lead to the Revolutionary War?

Biography of historical figure during the Revolutionary War. Biography should include important details of figures life and the contributions he/she made during the Revolutionary War. An essay will be written on the importance of the figure during the Revolutionary War, so contributions for this biography only needs to be a short paragraph.
