Independent Reading Response and Response to Read Aloud in Response Journal

Arkansas Framework: Categorize the type and composition of various minerals. Students will make an advertisement (small poster) for their assigned mineral. This poster will use a slogan to attempt to sell the mineral. The poster will include 3 uses for the mineral, occurances (where the mineral is found), and the following facts about the mineral: mineral name, hardness, SpG, transparency, color(s), luster, streak, cleavage and fracture.

Students will define, label and illustrate a new vocabulary term

Use of graphic organizers to record information from brainstorming sessions, existing knowledge for an assigned topic.

Students are asked to write a narrative that sequences an animals life cycle from the animal's point of view.
