Students need to have journal entries completed before each class. You will keep all journal entries in a notebook with all questions and responses to the questions. Requirements: Have a journal notebook. Have journal entry questions and responses All stray papers must be stapled into journal notebook minimum of 4 sentences per journal entry. Does not include Q&A

Must type or write a 750-800 word reaction paper. Must be submitted via google docs, or email if typing.

Research the approved topic. Submit one 7-10 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 5 resources used researching the paper. (use quotes from all 5)sources should include a news paper, professional journal, your text and two other books. Quotes can not be more than 5 lines. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

U.S. History Short Essay

Students are to build a structure in the imaginary city individually or with a partner. They must draw a map of the city and locate their building and discuss why the building is important in the city. (Grade 1 Building Things Unit)

You will use conversational English, while being scientifically accurate about your topic in a ~7-minute podcast. These are the types of stories you can discuss in your podcast. All group members should be heard in the podcast to ensure equal participation. You will have a workshop on editing the podcast later in the semester. Refer to class notes and the posted tips on script writing on Moodle. The rubric is used to evaluate the script.

Ideas/Conventions

This rubric will be used to guide and assess your ability to create and explain a political cartoon from the perspective of a person or group of people discussed in class this year.

This rubric is designed to assess an individual's performance during a group project. Each student in the group must fill out a rubric for each of the other students that he or she worked with. The student will anonymously hand in the rubrics to the teacher so that the teacher can assess the individual performance of each student.
