Students created an essay that informs the reader about child labor laws and hours worked. The essay may be expository.

Technology Movie

The students will work on their own to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of Bullying/"Look At Me, I'm Drug Free"/Anti-Smoking. Students will provide bullying scenarios and demonstrate bullying mediation techniques in a creative and colorful poster/pictures or scenarios displaying a "Drug Free" individual/pictures or scenarios following a anti-smoking theme. The poster will be designed on poster board (1/2 or full-sized poster board).

First, you will select a country in Central America. Then, divide into groups and develop a short (2-4 minutes) video using Windows Movie Maker about the country that you choose. In the video, you should discuss the country's government/politics, economy, languages spoken, religions, and other interesting facts about the country's culture. Also, make meaningful connections between the characteristics in these countries and how they are in the United States. Be creative!

Teamwork is behaviors under the control of individual team members (effort they put into team tasks, their manner of interacting with others on team, and the quantity and quality of contributions they make to team discussions.) Two characteristics define the ways in which this rubric is to be used. First, the rubric is meant to assess the teamwork of an individual student, not the team as a whole. Therefore, it is possible for a student to receive high ratings, even if the team as a whole is rather flawed. Similarly, a student could receive low ratings, even if the team as a whole works fairly well. Second, this rubric is designed to measure the quality of a process, rather than the quality of an end product. Create a movie based on the country you have selected. Grading will in include the 6 sub-topics, location, climate, language, religion, economy, and government. Students wil also be graded their contribution to the project and overall quality of the project.

Students organize information about the Five Themes of Geography researching a country. They will present their findings in the form of a movie using Movie Maker.

Create a school commercial that promotes school spirit

The student will create a minimum 6 page web site that meets the requirements of the Web Design Client Project. Students will have a home page (named index.html) plus five other pages. The students will choose a client for whom to create the web site.

Write and type a report using pedigrees and Punnett Squares on two distinct traits in your current family. Drawings or photos must back up your information.
