This rubric is based on students math journal notes and interactive notebook.

Students respond to a prompt Lord of the Flies. They are required to develop a thesis statement, three body paragraphs with support from the text, and a concluding paragraph that restates the thesis.

Creative extension on Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Combine all of the analytical and thematic elements of the novel to accomplish one of the following: 1. Short Story--What happens after Chapter 12? 2. News Story--Articles, Live Report, or Video 3. Proposed and approved project of your choice

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book Lord of the Flies to the movie version.

Students are to create a composite figure and then calculate the perimeter and area of each shape and then the total for that figure. Student Friendly Learning Objective: I will decompose figures formed by quadrilaterals, triangles, and circles into non-overlapping rectangles to determine the perimeter and area of the figure.

Using an online comic strip generator or drawing by hand, each student will create a comic strip to show understanding of a mathematical concept using the appropriate math vocuabulary in the comic strip dialog. Students will use Tangram pices to createa composite shape. THey willa ccurately find the perimeter and area of the whole shape.

Physical Education students will perform a chosen dance from around the world and perform as a taped presentation via ipad. They will give a hand written information about the dance. The students should explain the title of the dance, where the dance is from, why it is performed and for whom the dance is performed. The dance students will perform this world dance with knowledge of the steps and performance quality.

This rubric is for evaluating argument essays written by students assessing their ability to formulate argumentative writings that decipher between presidential candiadate choice using factual evidence, data and statistics.

This rubric will assess a student's ability to write an original math word problem for a partner to solve and solve a problem given to them by their partner. Students are also assessed on their ability to explain in writing their strategy used to solve the problem.

Students will summarize each chapter from the text on the left side of the journal. On the right side of the journal students will write at least 1-2 entries from each category of the following per chapter; Any predictions, observations, clarifications, personal connections about the chapter.

Students develop a business presentation for a water filter that they have created and present it to the sharks. They will present to their peers as well as to 3 potential investors The Presentation will 5-10 minutes in length.
