My Life Playlist

Jazz History Timeline
List multiple important dates, facts, and/or composers from the history of jazz. Once you have finished your list, you will then use that list to create an original jazz history timeline. You may present your timeline using one of the following creative ways: Poster, Pamphlet, Newspaper, Rap or Song, Tri-Foldable, or any other teacher approved format. This is NOT a group project.

World Music Project - Presentation & Game
Research the music from a country of your choice. With the information you researched, you will create a Presentation and a creative game with multiple topics in order to teach the class about the music of your country. Students will present their information to the class via a Presentation (Slideshow) and then the class will play the game that the students created. This is a group project of no more than 3 students.

Jazz Talkshow
Imagine that you are the host on your very own talk show. On your show, you will be interviewing 3 famous jazz musicians (dead or alive). Create an original script to discuss their life as well as their influence in jazz music. You will then record your talkshow using the “Green Screen." This is a group project of no more than 4 students.

Music History Project
Students will pick an era of music history to research (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic or 20th Century) along with their respective composers. Research will be developed into a presentation project of their choice. They may use computers, video, audio, posters, etc. for their project presentation.

World Music Project - Paper/Presentation
Students are to choose a certain country besides the United States, and they are to research the music of that country. They will be typing a 2 page paper as well as create a presentation for the entire class to view.

Jazz Paper/GarageBand Project
Students are to do a 2 page research paper on the history of jazz. They will also be creating a GarageBand project on a genre of their choosing.

Instrument Research Project
Students will research their instrument that they have chosen to play. Students will then take their research and present it in a creative way. Such ways could be a poster, a slideshow, make a mobile, a video or documentary, a tri-foldable, newspaper, etc.

Music Festival Project
Students will learn how to plan for a three-day music festival and will have to accomplish the following things: Planning with a budget, creating a layout for a festival; building a daily schedule; advertising for the festival; and working with and presenting a final product to a client.

Musical Children's Book
Students are to use iMovie to incorporate musical elements to a children's storybook in which students will be able to share with their classmates and/or other elementary students. Students will take pictures of each page of their book, they will then record themselves and add the audio to their iMovie, and finally, they will then add music and/or sound effects to their iMovie.
