Black History Month

Excel Spreadsheet: Open and save a workbook, enter labels and values, edit cell entries, enter formulas, create complex formulas, use Excel functions, format values, use fonts and font sizes, adjust column widths, generate totals with AutoSum, display and print formula contents, preview and modify a worksheet.

Students will research Christmas traditions in a country of their choice. They will answer questions provided for them on a Google Form.

This rubric will be used to determine how well you understood and responded to the questions on the google form.

Write a letter to a prominent Canadian. Provide details as to why they inspired you to write to them, and in your everyday life. Describe why you are a proud Canadian, and ask them to respond with their view on being a proud Canadian. Use proper letter-writing format.

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. For this project, you will be researching and creating a guide for a national park. You may create a pamphlet, flier, or slideshow.

Writing assignment rubric for application to various non-research writing projects/assignments

With the perspective of their fictional character in mind, students will write a letter to Santa. Role: Invented character, Audience: Santa Claus, Format: Letter, Topic: What your character would like for Christmas. Letter should include: greeting, body (asking for items then persuasion for items then wrapping it up.), salutation and signature.

Create a poster describing the volcano in terms of specific locations, type of magma, type of eruptions, how it is formed, and the effects of that type of volcanic eruption.

Students are selecting land animals, researching, and creating a project by designing a poster to aid them in their presentation. The presentation should tell about where their animal/s lives, what their animal/s eat, what their animal/s looks like, and what the adaptations to the habitat are. Students may write their report notes on index cards, or use their posters to help them remember the important facts about their animal during their presentation.
