Book report on Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

This project is worth a total of 100 points. Students will work in groups to research several types of energy sources. They will create a poster or powerpoint to show the energy source that they have chosen and share information in a presentation to the class. Participation will be based on teacher notes and observations and a peer review.

You are to create a bookmark representing a Greek God and you with an explanation of how it represents you.

The following slides are needed as a minimum:(1) Cover page (2) Mission Statement (3) Executive Summary (4) Company Description (5) Products & Services Plan (6) Marketing Plan (7) Management Plan (8) Financial Plan (9) Closing and (10) Any works cited pages if you quoted another person's words or copied graphics. Time limit for presentation is 20 minutes--15 minutes to present & a 5 minutes questions session. You must be in professional business dress & graphics should be used in presentation.

Business Plan

When writing your short answer for the exam, this is what your answer will be graded on. Short answer questions are worth 5-6 points each.

(20 POINTS - 4 points each section) Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be determined. All students are expected to participate in class! I do understand that some students are shy and participate in ways other than class discussion. Forms of participation other than participating in class discussion (although this is a primary form of participation) include coming to me for extra help, giving other students feedback in class, adhering to the no-voice and no-phone rule, consistent attendance, and being able to answer in-class ASL dialogue from both the teacher and other students. NOTE: If you get to the point of having a fair/poor participation grade in one or more areas, it will probably be recommended that you withdraw from the class, as you probably will not be able to keep up with the material. If a student is absent, s/he losts points on the punctuality grade rubric also.

Measuring professionalism in class.

Students will create their own one page flyer to attempt to persuade a non-profit organization to use their design for an aid package drop after a natural disaster in Thailand.

This rubric will /assess student use of an online survey to create a meaningful and useful survey to collect data to be used in developing a creative advertising idea or campaign.

Assessment of written creative brief.

Students will be assessed on the effectiveness of their interview skills during a mock interview.

Choose a full-length article that reviews research on one of the topics presented in class.(within the last 5 years) Write a one paragraph summary of the article followed by one paragraph of how this applies to business today or could be applied and a one paragraph personal reflection.

Students will be divided into groups. Each group will select a company and conduct an analysis of that company's marketing plan. Students will identify the target market(s) and how the marketing plan addresses that target market. Requirements include but are not limited to a S.W.O.T. analysis, a review of the 4P' marketing mix and how these are impacted by the target market. Students will then create a 15 minute presentation with visual aides and present it to the class.

Students will read an article dated within the last two weeks that addresses current economic or financial market issues. *A short written analysis of how the economy seeks to address the three key economic questions *A listing of positive aspects of the economy *A listing of negative aspects of the economy *Examples of nations that currently (or in the past) used this economic system

In this project, students are introduced to the process of working with a client through an advertisement project. They work with a client to identify the goals, audience, and purpose of an advertisement.

This rubric will assess student peer teaching of their classmates.

Create a flyer using Photoshop, Illustrator, or MSWord. Find or create an image that elicits the theme and use guidelines to create a successful marketing flyer.

Online discussion assignments are worth 2 possible total points with 10 discussions due.
