Poetry Book/Portfolio Rubric
Poetry Portfolio: This project is the final assessment in the unit of Poetry. This is a 4 week task wherein students compile original poetry done in class showcasing the use of imagery, and other literary devices. Poems includes animal alliteration, acrostic, Bio poem, cinquain, color poem, free verse, sensory poem, shape poem all presented in one portfolio.

South America Inquiry Project
Students are zoo keepers who have been asked to open an Amazon animal exhibit.They need to select the best environment at the zoo for their animal, according to the animal's characteristics and needs. They will submit a poster showing the design and a written explanation. The presentation should tell where their animal lives, what their animal should eat, what their animal looks like, predators they may have, temperature/rainfall of the Amazon rain forest and explain their chosen features.
