Students must work together to create a warm-up routine to a clean music playlist. The routine should be no less than 5 minutes (1A, 2B) or 10 minutes (2A, 3B, 4B) that they will memorize and teach to the rest of the class. This routine should incorporate activities to get the heart rate up, multiple stretches, and body and mind focusing activities. Each member should have a teaching role.

Each group must chose clean or instrumental songs for which they have supplied the music and will choreograph a warm-up routine. Student(s) must work together to create a warm-up routine of no less than 15 minutes that they will memorize and teach together to the rest of the class. This routine should incorporate multiple stretches, relaxation techniques, and body and mind focusing activities, as well as help the group feel energized and prepared to work together throughout the class time.

Students will be producing a solo or group dance based on their dance investigation topics. Compositional devices should be used to enhance their performance. The dance must be a combination of various dance styles or a completely original dance based on one or several cultures.

Choose one of the modern dance pioneers from the list and prepare a detailed web-based presentation or powerpoint presentation. Your presentation should include: demonstration of Pioneer technique with explanation, musical accompaniment, a description of the Pioneer's technical and/or choreographic theory, a detailed and informative description of the culture and history of the time in which this Pioneer lived and worked and how did that influence your Pioneer--include specific examples. All projects should contain relevant information on the person including background, style of modern, examples or description of choreographic style and specific performances and choreographical works. *You need to have a minimum of 8 slides included in the video or presentation. Videos and pictures are necessary. You should also cite your sources (examples will be provided). *Presentations of Slide Shows and videos will start on September 4th. Worth 50 points as test grade for unit.
