Each group will research one section of the rhetorical devices list and choose 4 to use for their section of the class google slide. Each Slide must have the Rhetorical Device, The Definition, An Example of the Rhetorical Device from the I Have a Dream Speech, and an interpretation of the example.

This anthology is the final assessment in the unit of Poetry.

Submit a one page (5 paragraph) essay, following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Use quotes from all 3 sources. Quotes can not be more than 5 lines. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and works cited page.

This tool is used to grade students' daily journal entries in English.

You will research one area of life in Elizabethan England (Queen Elizabeth reigned from 1558–1603; William Shakespeare lived from 1564-1616) and present your findings in a dynamic 3-to-5-minute presentation next week. You should focus on the six most interesting facts from your research and prepare a speech in which you educate and entertain your audience.

Directions: You will create your own 14-line sonnet. Each line needs to be exactly 10 syllables (don’t worry about the iambic part of the iambic pentameter – the 10 syllables will be enough of a challenge) and the poem needs to follow the rhyme scheme (ABAB CDCD EFEF GG) discussed today in class. For your rough draft, use a pencil because you’ll probably need to do some erasing. You will recite your Sonnet. For the presentation you will need a slide wit a minimum of 8 pictures.

This is a rubric for a poetry anthology consisting of 10 samples of different forms of poetry.

Essay of Literary Analysis that uses concrete details and textual evidence to support a thesis.

Research an author to determinw the cultural and literary influences that have affected his or her style (and subjects) of writing. Use MLA format for the heading, body, parenthetical notes, works cited, etc. Submit 3-5 typed pages of publishing the results of your research. Include a Works Cited page with at least 5 sources used researching the paper. Two must be by the author. The other three must be about the author. Paper will be graded on quality of research, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. Grade will be also consider organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, correct citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Because the rubric will be used with novice writers, students will be able to get an A without reaching full mastery of all items.
