This rubric is used for grading and assessing stained glass projects in a secondary art course

The following rubric is so students and parents will know what is expected of students regarding effort in completing a multimedia class assignments: participation, cooperation, thoroughness in doing assignments, individual/group work,and critical/creative thinking.

Students learned about the foundations of linear perspective drawing. They combined their knowledge of color theory and collage into a perspective collage showing depth, space, and unity of color.

Intro to Watercolor Students utilized several watercolor painting techniques in a monochromatic watercolor painting showing variation of tone and depth.

Students receive a weekly grade based on their attendance and punctuality, working with others, safety practices, quality of work, and following directions.

Students will construct a mandala which incorporate aspects of their personality, show good craftsmanship, and utilize shading techniques.

Students will build a webpage showcasing several of their projects from throughout the semester. This counts for 50% of final exam grade.

Students will create a drawing based on a theme of choice by weaving two images together using the grid drawing method.

Rubric to assess student's independent abstract project

Students will create two watercolor landscape paintings; one contains a creek running towards the foreground with other natural elements present in the background, and the other is a sunset reflecting on water with a pier and trees in the foreground. Students will create a foreground, middle ground, and background using watercolor techniques.

A rubric that properly evaluates the artistic process. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project or a work of art.

Students will create a design (realistic, abstract, or non-objective) based on a song lyric or line of poetry and create a mosaic using the direct method of mosaic application.

Students will have designated sketchbook time in class. Students will include bellwork and notes in their sketchbooks. Sketchbook entries may need to be completed outside of class.

The Elements of Design play an important role in photography. This assignment requires you to take a series of digital photos to illustrate each element of sesign Each picture should be interesting to look at. You will take a series of 9 images for each element of compositon. You will compile these into a series of 9 contact sheets. One for each element. Your best shot from each contact should be placed on one contact sheet. Save all contacts as jpeg files. Upload all to your weebly website on one page called Elements of Design

Students will conduct online research of the elements of art and principles of design, and compile the information into a cohesive document.

This rubric is used for grading the content of each art portfolio and counts for 70% of the final exam grade. The slideshow and presentation counts as 30% of the final exam grade. (see attached rubric)
