Book Talk Rubric -Independent Reading Favorite Book Students will write and orally present a book talk on one of their favorite independent reading books. Students will persuade other students, by clearly and concisely piquing the interest of peers in a solid hook and focused and interesting summary that closes with a definite opinion with support for reading and enjoying the book. Colorful language and confident speaking will enhance your persuasion.

Students will be able to analyze and explain interpretation of themes in a novel. Students will explain how the author uses plot, setting, conflict, characters, and character motivation to develop a major theme (throughout novel) and minor themes.

Create a word cloud using Wordle to describe important characters, settings, and events from your novel. Write an expository paragraph explaining why you chose the words you put into your Wordle.
