After class discussions, partner research and discussions, students were able to identify and explain life as a colonist in a specific region of the 13 colonies.

For Women's History Month, the students "Closely Read passages on a variety of famous women. They were then instructed to obtain additional information through research. Their final project will consist of a biography that should include information on the person's early life, what led her to her chosen career or purpose, what contributions she made to society, any interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and her contributions have on modern times.

Based on Miguel's actions, thoughts, and words, list one or two character traits that describe him. Then cite evidence from the story that supports the trait given.

We were able to create a Native American Flipbook about a specific tribe. We researched information to explore the experiences and evolution of the Native American tribe and how they relied on natural resources.

Students will describe a snow creature and describe it by using sensory details. Writing will be graded on capitalization, punctuation, use of figurative language, spelling, grammar usage, and figurative language such as with similes, hyperbole, onomatopoeia and personification. Also the writing may include metaphors.

I learned that the world consist of various land forms so I can participate in class discussions. I know I got it because I was able to complete a vocabulary flip book and identify specific land forms of my interest.
