Rubric to assess oral presentations in Ethnic Studies.

Create a 5-10 minute film adaptation of one or many texts from this semester.

Students will illustrate the important concepts of life in early Rome.

Students will create a research paper about the effects of mental illness based on the movie The Soloist.

Students will research information on an assigned topic and prepare a presentation to convey information to an assigned audience.

Students will present their posters on Drugs and the Consciousness

Student will create a display poster based on research about psychoactive drugs. The poster will contain information about a specific psychoactive drug and how it effects our consciousness.

Using the United States Constitution as your guide, create a constitution your classmates would understand. You will be assessed on how you work together in a group, how well you follow the organization of the article(s) given from the constitution, word choice and ideas, and individual contribution to the group.

Students will assume the role of a member of a movie production company. Students will create a movie pitch that starts with Spain coming to America and then end with the ratification of the Constitution. Students will have to decide all aspects of the movie: title, genre, director, cast, crew, and more. Students will create a website that includes information about the film they are producing and why they decided to take the approach that they did.

Students will create a story board that will capture the events in Us History from the arrival of Spain to America to the ratification of the Constitution.

This rubric is designed to evaluate a short story that students create for a multi-grade high school (10, 11, 12) History class. Students are expected to meet requirements that exemplify the skills learned in class to create a compelling and well-organized fictional narrative.

Rubric for Presentation on Principles of Constitution

Write a persuasive piece of writing detailing why someone should attend Morgan State University; what would be some factors for coming to Morgan State University that convinces a reader why they should agree with you. You should incorporate persuasive strategies and convincing persuasive language to help strengthen your argument. Your writing must be planned and carefully edited, paying attention to your spelling and punctuation.

Students will write a summary that includes all the 5 parts of a summary.

The learner will apply story retelling strategies by completing a story map requesting students to give a pictorial and written description of the beginning, middle, and end. (Standards: CC.2.R.L.5 & HI.2.R.3.2)

Students complete simple graphic organizer about character traits using evidence from the text. Then write about the character traits and connect the evidence from the text to create a mental picture of the character.

Write a well-organized essay presenting an argument and evidence to support the argument. Include at least one counterargument and rebuttal to the counterargument.

The student will chronicle the life of a slave as told from the 1st person point of view.
