Honors Poetry Portfolio: This project is the final assessment in the unit of Poetry. This is a two week task wherein students compile original poetry done in class showcasing the use of imagery, sound effects and rhyming, etc. Poems showcase various poetry styles learned, plus free verse poetry of the student.

An essay worth 50 points for the final project of Lord of the Flies

After learning about the archetype, students create a written paper connecting the theme of their outside novel with 3 aspects of the main character's journey.

Students will research, plan, and compose a presentation in which their performance will be evaluated in terms of specific standards set in class, including the clarity and completeness of your speech and the quality of your presentation in explaining your topic matter. The students will include: theme, rhetorical devices, and an ad with a logical fallacy. Non-verbal communication is highlighted. Students will have 3 to 5 minutes to present.
