End of Semester Group Performance Jury.

Assessment rubric for scoring the performance of a musical selection.

Students will arrange 2 Holiday musical selections, in a small group. The selection of music will include backing track or live accompaniment. Arrangements should also include harmonization to give texture to the piece. Performance should be creative and engaging and demonstrate your best vocal ability.

Students will compose a short piece of music (30 seconds to a minute), in a small group. The piece of music will include a rhythm, using rhythm instruments or body percussion, or both. The piece of music must also include a melody, which can be played on melody instruments or sung, or both. All music must be written on paper, using staff paper for music notation. Groups must perform their project at the Spring Music Program.

The Presentation Team must present their research, as a group to the class. Each member of the group must speak. You will earn a grade that reflects the accuracy and detail of your research, and the quality of the presentation of your findings. Each student on the group will earn a group collaboration grade. The group collaboration grade will be based on how effectively you perform your role as a member of the group.

Choose an artist/group from the 1960s and do a 2 - 3 page research paper with bibliography and a ten minute presentation on the artist/group including a poster that features a photo of the artist/group, group member names, biographical information(single artist) and career highlights. Presentation must also feature no less than three school acceptable musical examples of the biggest hits of the artist/group.
