Rubric for alternatives to book reports or traditional book reports

Students will read a fiction or non-fiction book and create a book report using a paper bag. They will collect the required story elements and information to the bag (typed not handwritten).

Used for grading poems written by students. Naming the type of poetry style used.

For use with play/scene/skit presentations, for which students must also submit a written copy of their scripts for 5 minutes. Write an original skit with 10 facts dealing with drug information, should have a cast of at least 3 people, practice and perform

The students will put together a project for display. The project will contain a description of acid rain based on the research that they did. The presentation should be neat, readable, and contain facts and visual aids.

Students were to write 8-10 sentences. Write a persuasive argument against a specific drug. Then write a letter against the specific drug to yourself, a friend, or sibling. Use what we've learned in class, in your research and the following facts o write their argument.

The project is to design a brochure describing the specific drug affect of an illegal drug, its long term and short effects on the body and how this drug would impact on a teenage user. It should be neat and colorful, not just a splash of color. On a separate sheet of paper write a 5 sentence paragraph of what you learned.

List common signs of drug abuse, 2.difference between social use, dependence and addition. 3.Include resources where teenagers with a drug problem can turn for help. 4.What kind of help drug dependent or addicted teens can receive in the Area. 5.List resources of local facilities. 6.Be neat, colorful and organized. Write and present a 60 second ad script for Radio. Announcement must include 5 myths and 5 truths surrounding a specific drug, an attention getter, name of the drug, why audience should not engage in using this drug, and what you want your audience to do (call to action). May include music in background. Can only use the power of your voice.
