Book Talk Rubric -Independent Reading Favorite Book Students will write and orally present a book talk on one of their favorite independent reading books. Students will persuade other students, by clearly and concisely piquing the interest of peers in a solid hook and focused and interesting summary that closes with a definite opinion with support for reading and enjoying the book. Colorful language and confident speaking will enhance your persuasion.

Students will write and read a narrative poem.

Create a menu. You must give your restaurant a name and create the menu. The menu should include at least 10 complete choices for each of the sections of the menu: appetizer, set menu,side menu, desserts and drinks. The menu should be visually pleasing with easily identifiable headings, prices, and pictures.

A written biography on an artist, and their connection to a specific art movement and time/historical context.

The student will present the biography of a famous artist, find 5 to 10 of his/her works of art and discuss what lead this person to become a well known artist.

Students are to create a timeline, with at least 10 events from their silent reading book. The timeline can be vertical (up and down) or horizontal, but must have 10 "so why?" elements that directly correspond to what happen in the book. One reason for each event. Events can be either illustrated or written, but must be neatly done and visually appealing (nice to look at).
