Assessment of Group Compositions Performed on Bucket Drum.

Students will analyze a hip hop song. With in this song they will listen and score the song based on the skills of creativity and originality, flow and lyrics (clever), beat, and appeal (storyline).

Designed for middle school reading class.

Students will examine and analyze one of the poems given to them. Students will analyze the poem’s literary elements (parts of the poem and figures of speech) and use this analysis to interpret the meaning of this poem. In other words, what is the poem saying and what literary elements does the author use to demonstrate this message?

Students will research an Famous Black American, creating a summary and lantern to illustrate important scene in the life of this famous Black American.

I can summarize fictional texts that represent cultures in different regions. I can summarize central ideas and important details from fables or myths.

This rubric is to assess the students ability to put the life cycle stages in order in which to add to their foldable story. Students were given a choice to sequence the life cycles of at least three animals which include mammals, reptiles, insects, and amphibians.

The students will create art using a key. The key is determined through correct answers students choose after reading the non-fiction passage.

Organize information using a Data Table.

In Social Studies, we have been following the Presidential Election, the Election Process, and held discussions about not only the candidates, but issues that affect us a members of our community, city, and country at large. Students were to demonstrate the sequence of the election process through a Flow Map, as well as demonstrate their mastery of letter writing. Remember to correctly use and punctuate all the parts of the friendly letter.

3rd Grade Graphing Rubric

Poems tell Stories, but look different from stories. Poems use figurative language and there are many different types of poems. In this Unit students have been learning about different types of poems, specifically Haiku, Limerick, and Free Verse to create their own in order to better understand how a poem is built and how ideas in a stanza build on each other.

Students were to create a Double Bubble map and then write an compare and contrast piece from it using themselves and a friend. Along with using academic language there should also be an introductory sentence, three similar details, three contrasting details, and a closing sentence.

This rubric includes a breakdown of Commutative, Associative, and Distributive Properties of Multiplication along with various strategies used to break them down.
