Weekly Professional Grade

This rubric is used to assess a learner's ability to identify, select, don, and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) in a medical environment in order to prevent exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

All students are expected to participate in class! I do understand that some students are shy and participate in ways other than class discussion. Forms of participation other than participating in class discussion include coming to me for extra help, giving other students feedback in class, adhering to the rules (ie.-no phone, no talking/disrupting class), and consistent attendance.

Submit one 3-5 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following APA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources. Sources should include a news paper, 2 professional journals, your text and two other books. Quotes can not be more than 5 lines. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic.

(10 points: ) Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be determined. All students are expected to attend and participate in class. Forms of participation other than speaking up during class discussion (although this is a primary form of participation) include coming to me for extra help, giving other students feedback in class, adhering to the use of electronic devices only for academic purposes, and consistent attendance.

Clinical Evaluation of student performance of resident care in a Nursing Home. Students are required to perform patient care ADL's, and use critical thinking skills while working in the clinical setting. Work Ethic, Communication, Attendance/Tardiness/Safety/ Indirect Care Measures are evaluated.
