Students will build a model of their dream house. The house will include all the basic rooms from the vocabulary list, (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and laundry room. Any other room will be graded as extra credit) as well as any object that belong to the specific rooms. Every room and object will be labeled in Spanish. Students can use any material available at home (construction paper, play-do, Popsicle sticks, clay, cardboard, shoe box, etc). Due date:

Make a comic strip or book, using the Spanish vocabulary for Greetings, Introductions, and Farewells. Be creative!

Write and record a weather report from a Spanish speaking country. You must include: channel name, where you are reporting from, current weather, temperature, and suggestions for clothing. Include today's weather and what the weather will be the whole week. Use graph as a way to talk about the weather temperature/condition for the week.

Evaluate yourselves on conjugating verbs, and gender of the nouns.

-Developing research skills using the internet- Destination: “Hispanic Heritage Vacation Package" is a research project with and the cultural theme: Hispanic Heritage and a geographical focus. You will develop a "Hispanic Heritage Vacation Package" for a customer with specific interests (issued in class) for their 2011 Christmas Vacation. Your vacation package will be persuasive and informative in nature. Your customer will learn about the customs/traditions, cuisines, demographics, currency/exchange rate, historical monuments/places and helpful travel and safety tips (maps included) on a country, city or island of Hispanic Heritage. You will create a portrait using pictures, print outs or drawings of your family members on a poster board, or using any material you want. It will be written in Spanish and will describe your family members.

Student will investigate a Spanish speaking country of their choice Students will research in order to be able to answer present information about their country’s resources, culture, government, religion, geography, political atmosphere, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. They will present the country in front of the class and also a report about their country in either written or digital format.

Students will choose a country in North or South America. Through research they will find the country's flag, three different recipes from that country, the currency, short biography of person or symbol on the currency, map of the country, 5 facts, puctures of culture. The are to work in a timely manner and particpate in a "Taste of the Americas" event at school. They will particpate in preparation, during the event, and clean up.

Students will research information related to Christmas traditions, food, culture etc of a particular area in the world and create an informative creative, appealing, and easy to understand display. Traditions/ customs, "Merry Christmas", foods, Santa Claus, etc
