Use Vivid descriptive language, using the 5 senses and active verbs to describe an image to the class.

The Presentation Team must present their research, as a group to the class. Each member of the group must speak. You will earn a grade that reflects the accuracy and detail of your research, and the quality of the presentation of your findings.

Students will write a response to each short story including an introduction and conclusion in which they discuss their reaction to the text, a brief plot summary, and a brief discussion of the significance of setting, characterization, unique conflict, symbols, irony, etc. Essay should be at least 5 paragraphs, and the student should strive to make connections between the story and their personal experiences, other texts, or other medias such as film or television.

Final Draft of Literary Analysis Essay organizing your ideas into an essay containing the following: introductory paragraph containing a thesis statement; support body paragraphs containing assertions, integrated examples of proof/quotations, explanation/analysis, transition words, and concluding sentence; and ending with a concluding paragraph.

Students will give a persuasive speech to their peers. They will be assessed on use of persuasive language, content and style of delivery.

Students will write a an original fairy tale using the elements we discussed in class.

Write an autobiographical essay. Provide a brief life history including information about your family, where you have lived, your pets, your favorite things, etc. When I finish reading your autobiography, I should feel like I have known you forever. Use your best writing skills. (No spelling, grammar, punctuation problems!)

Create a children's story appropriate for either toddlers or early elementary students with illustrations. Voice, themes, and images must be appropriate for intended audience.

Students will create an artistic project about the epic poem Beowulf. The object of which is to follow Beowulf, accurately, on his adventures.

You will take a text we have read in class and create your own version of the story. The rewrite should focus on important events in the text while also keeping to the storyline. You will create your own book which will include binding the book, rewriting the story, and (if you choose to do so) creating pictures to go along with the story.

High school students in creative writing will write a short story to present first grade and kindergarten students.
