Book Talk Rubric -Independent Reading Favorite Book Students will write and orally present a book talk on one of their favorite independent reading books. Students will persuade other students, by clearly and concisely piquing the interest of peers in a solid hook and focused and interesting summary that closes with a definite opinion with support for reading and enjoying the book. Colorful language and confident speaking will enhance your persuasion.

This assessment will be graded on your overall knowledge and effort in our volleyball tryouts, as well as the student's strategy of play. Students will also be graded on their overall athleticism during the volleyball evaluation.

When writing your one paragraph short answer this is what your answer will be graded on. Short answer paragraphs should answer the question and be readable.

Each student will be randomly assigned an unusual costume piece or prop. Each student will partner up with one or more classmates. Partners or small groups will create a scenario - who, what, where - based on characters developed from costume and prop inspiration. Partners or small groups will create a pantomime script with a clear beginning, middle and ending throughout which the characters must interact with overly physical and exaggerated movements, gestures and facial expressions. The script can include character dialogue but should be built on "stage directions" that clarify each character's movements to tell the story. All the characters movements must be scripted, practiced, memorized and performed in class. The object of this process is to use exaggerated physicality and connection with others to create an interesting, active and enteraining story with purposeful and clear character development.

This rubric is designed to help you work on your pantomime and narration skills.

The essay will identify the hero and show why that person is chosen. The body of the essay will answer essential questions: Why is my selected figure a hero? How was my hero impacted by the zeitgeist or the context of the times in which he or she was living? In other words, what historical events and how did what was going on in society affect the person’s struggles/achievements? What lasting impact did your hero leave on society?

Create a 3-5 minutes video that highlights conservation issue. Your video can be a music video, play, claymation, animation, TV show, or another style. The video must be professional and focus on teaching content in a fun/imaginative fashion rather than a lecture format. The video must include general information and patterns in the Periodic table, trends in electrons configuration with the Bohr Model;

Oral Presentation Rubric

Write a brief postcard to a penpal using topics covered in first six weeks. Postcard should include: greetings, to ask and tell how someone is, to say good-bye, a description of yourself using 'las partes del cuerpo' vocabulary, correct use of 'El y La', you must state the current date, your birthday, your birthday season and weather. You must use the postcard template passed out in class and must include and illustration that depicts items written in postcard.
