Students will create a poster display of their imaginary Barber- shop. They will incorporate a chart on the wall to display clipper cuts with illustrated guard measurements for client reference.

Students will perform a basic manicure on their partner. Students will be graded on proper procedure, sanitation, and using the correct tools, implements, and equipment .

Oral communication is a prepared, purposeful presentation designed to increase knowledge, to foster understanding, or to promote change in the listeners' attitudes, values, beliefs, or behaviors. Oral communication takes many forms. This rubric is specifically designed to evaluate oral presentations of a single speaker at a time and is best applied to live or video-recorded presentations. For panel presentations or group presentations, it is recommended that each speaker be evaluated separately. Research the approved topic. Submit a 4+ page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

Generalized rubric to cover a variety of note-taking formats

Students develop a business plan for a retail or service business that they are personally interested in starting. Each student will be responsible for all portions of the comprehensive plan that covers everythnig, including Executive Summary, Business Description, writing a mission statement, developing the marketing plan, etc.
