NS 250: Nursing Process for Disease, Illness, or Condition
Each student group will research a disease, illness, or condition of the instructor's choosing and relay what was learned to the class. Information on the disease should include the physiology and etiology of the condition, as well as discussion of diagnostics, nursing assessments (subjective & objective), medical management, nursing diagnosis and planning and nursing interventions & special consideration. Rationales for nursing interventions should be explained and discussed. Presentations can be in any format that the student group desires. A written summary of the presentation and research is to be handed in, and bibliography/references are to be included for assessment.

Skills Lab Rubric
Students are required to perform paramedic skills with 100 % proficiency. In addition to skills performance of skills, students must use critical thinking skills to include indirect care measures:safety, infection control, comfort measures, patient's rights.

Research the approved topic. Submit one 4-6 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 6 resources used researching the paper. (use quotes from 5) Sources should include a news paper, 2 professional journals, your text and two other books. Quotes can not be more than 5 lines. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

Nursing Care Plan Rubric
Choose a patient scenario, or your instructor will provide you with one. Prepare a care plan based on relevant objective and subjective assessment data. Explain what assessments would be done and how data would be obtained. The care plan will include nursing diagnosis, written in proper format and listed in order of priority for care, planning and goal statements which must be attainable and measurable, nursing interventions with researched rationales and prioritization.
