Building a Musical Instrument Project
Task: Students will construct & present a homemade musical instrument. Student will present what materials were chosen, how constructed, quality of sound, and how sound is produced. Students will play a simple tune using this instrument, and demonstrate volume & pitch control, explaining how to control each. A PowerPoint presentation will also be assembled by each student, serving as visual aid for explanations each student gives regarding their instrument. Objective:6.P.1.3

Homemade Musical Instrument Project Rubric
Objective: Students will research how musical instruments make sounds. Students will construct and present a homemade musical instrument from recycled materials. They will be required to play at least three distinct pitches using their instrument and explain how they produced the different pitches. Students will use scientific terminology from our current unit of study to explain how their instrument produces sound and changes from a high pitch to a lower pitch.

Pop 'n Run Mousetrap Car design challenge
Your objective is to design a Mousetrap powered vehicle that will travel the distance of 3 m , pop a balloon that has a "fun sized" candy bar in it, and Catch the candy! Extra credit if the vehicle returns. No outside human interference is allowed, nor any electrical devices.

Catapult project rubric
Students will design and create a demo of a body undergoing projectile motion. Students will be able to calculate the initial velocity of their body using kinematic equations. Students will use kinematic equations to adjust catapult to hit a given target.

Science National Honor Society Video Teaching Project
Teams of 4 students or less will create a 2-5 minutes video that teaches a difficult science concept in your assigned class. The video must be professional and focus on teaching science courses in a fun/imaginative fashion rather than a list of information format. The video must include: • visuals/models to aid in the discussion • explanations of the concepts • examples of how to do problems or explain concepts
