This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your powerpoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

The student will create a Diorama which includes a favorite historical scene and an oral report describing the scene they chose (setting, important characters, how/why the scene was important to history, tell about the elements in their diorama and how they are related to the scene.

Slavery news segment

Students will create a visual that shows the route Harriet Tubman and other slaves used for the Underground Railroad.

Imagine your were living during slavery. Write 10 journal entries for a slave, a slave master, a slave driver, a colonial official, or any other person living at the time. You must have 10 diary entries of 1-2 pages each. You work must be supported by at least 3 reliable sources

Full project will be graded: written and presentation

Quilt assembled by class to show understandind of Freedom Quilts purpose. Each child constructs their own quilt square to add to quilt. The quilt is a map to safety from the front of school to the classroom. Then the students write a 3 paragraph essy about the symbols used and why they used them.
