Students will reflect on topics presented by a guest speaker and and draw connections to course curriculum and learning.

Students will follow directions given in activity.

Is there additional training for this career? 7. What colleges will prepare you for this career?

What is the earning potential of your career? 2. How much education is needed to become a _________? 3. What is the happiness or stress factor of your career? 4. Are their hazards involved in performing a job in your career field? 5. How did you become interested in this career?

Poster should include: Title, job description, personal skills for that career, salary range, training, nature of work, working conditions, occupational outlook (must be quantifiable), advantages/disadvantages to the career, things which can be done to prepare for this job this year to move towards this occupation, classes that can be taken in High School to prepare for this career and opportunities to explore this career locally.

Assessment of Quick Write

Each student will be required to turn in at least 1 written question for a process that they are performing in their class. Questions must contain content specific terminology and higher level thought processes.

A Process Essay is a written, step-by-step explanation of a process. Choose a process that you enjoy and write a how-to essay that will help readers perform the process, even if it's something they've never done before.

Students will create a 1-5 minute Step by Step Demo Video using an iPad. They must demonstrate content knowledge and teach the steps in the proper sequential order. Assignment Requirements: 1. Length of video: one to five minutes 2. Step by Step process to teach one technique from NR class. 3. Incorporate NR terminology throughout the video. 4. Finished video uploaded to Dropbox for review. 5. All students cooperate and contribute to video.

Assessment of Quick Write

The article summary guide provides is an outline where you can write specific details about a topic that you have read about in class. It is a summary of facts from the article that you will reproduce into your own words to inform others about what you have learned.

Persuasive letter to request tools for your "toolbox". Remember to correctly use proper punctuation in all parts of your letter.

Students write/read instructions to another student who then performs the steps. The outcome should match what the person writing/reading the directions explained.

Students develop a Shaken Baby Syndrome awareness PSA in a public service announcement. In the PSA students are to raise awareness for the law by briefly describing the issue, and providing relevant information on prevention and possible warning signs, if any at all.
