Create a travel brochure for the city of Ember. Highlight the positives of the city, places to see, and other interesting facts.

Create a set of trading cards of Ember canned food labels. Each card will need an assigned number value based on its rarity in the city of Ember. You can use blank 3 X 5 cards for your trading cards. You should create at least 10-12 trading cards . Use evidence from the book in order to decide which canned foods are the most rare and which ones are more common.

Students are to create a movie trailer for their Lit. Circle book. The book should engage viewers and make the viewers WANT to read the book. Requirements include 1-3 minutes of video, music, titles, and some editing. Student's video MUST be relevant to the book.

Students must create a script about the book they are reading. The skit/Play will then be performed in class. (Students may act it out with fellow classmates).

Students will read weekly chapter assignments and complete a five to seven sentence summary for each chapter. Each paragraph will include the main idea and supporting details for each chapter read. The goal of this rubric is to obtain a better understanding of how to write a great summary and locate the main idea within a chapter, while using background knowledge (BK) and textual clues (TC) to identify unknown or current vocabulary words.

Guided Novel Study: complete in it's entirety to create a multi-media presentation on the book (required slides + 3 additional slides).

Students will create a figurative language poster to visually convey the meaning of the type of figurative device used.

Pick a Florida Landform, draw a picture and explain the natural processes that created it.

Based on the FAA Airport Design Challenge in Minecraft where students build all facets (in detail), of an airport.

Student follows directions, completes a current event or science article summary, and fills out and attaches a dogonews.com slip.
