Book Talk Rubric -Independent Reading Favorite Book Students will orally present a book talk on one of their favorite independent reading books. Students will persuade other students, by clearly and concisely piquing the interest of peers in a solid hook and focused and interesting summary that closes with a definite opinion with support for reading and enjoying the book. Colorful language and confident speaking will enhance your persuasion.

Response to literature. It connects the verbal with the visual; it connects literature’s thoughts to your thoughts; it appeals to verbal and visual.

Story map poster presentation. Must include the elements of characterization, setting, conflict, plot (at least 5 points) and theme.

Your video, and this is important, MUST BE ERA SPECIFIC (1896-1911). This means that marks will be deducted if things appear in your commercial that had not yet been invented. You really have to consider your setting, language, wardrobe, and film style. Use filters to age your picture. Dress and speak appropriately.

Commercial about Hunger: Your group needs to make and present a commercial about hunger. The commercial needs to be a minimum or 30 seconds and a maximum of 60 seconds. Your group can act this out, or preferably record your commercial on your computer. Your commercial needs to include at least one scientific fact about hunger. These commercials are note advertisements, buts PSA’s (Public Service Announcements)
