Letter-writing rubric

Using an alphabet letter, students will create a non-rhyming poem that uses alliteration in each line, with the same starting sound as the letter in their title

This is the rubric used for most of the science labs in this class. Grade is based on what you write and report in your lab notebook. NOTE: Procedures should include any safety precautions need for the lab.

The students will put together a poster to show during their oral presentation. The poster will contain information that the students collected regarding the community through interviews and internet research. The group presentation must be aligned with the poster.

Students will create an Instagram for a chosen character in The Outsiders

A paragraph is a group of sentences developing one topic. This rubric will assess how well students develop the topic and support main ideas within a written paragraph.

Students are given a reading comprehension questions after reading a short passage. Students are expected to answer all questions in complete sentences using appropriate grammar and vocabulary.

Create a power point that informs teens about why its important to stay away from fad diets and risky weight loss strategies.

Students will create a movie trailer based on The Outsiders novel. Their job is to think about what their targeted audience is and market the movie trailer to their tastes. They must capture the essence, complete with theme and symbols present in the movie trailer.

The students will write and perform a skit that adapts and modernizes a scene from The Outsiders, including character development and effective dialogue.

In assigned groups, students will create a informational poster and slideshow based on age, Canada's Food Guide groups and their nutrients.

Student will design and implement a fitness circuit for the class to complete.

Students will provide concise answers to content-based questions about Student Vote topics.

Your grade is based on your ability to design a lab report. NOTE: Procedures should include any safety precautions needed for the lab, and you need to state the independent and dependent variables in your hypothesis. You will not be performing the lab, instead, your classmates will have an opportunity to do your lab. You are responsible for providing the necessary materials so that your peers will be able perform the experiment.

Students will research information on their municipal, provincial and federal candidate of their choice and the related to key election topics (Economy, Environment & Energy, Foreign Policy, Health, Immigration, Education, Taxes)

This rubric is intended to stimulate original ideas and thinking relating to the Election The voice of the author should be distinct and appropriate to their message.
