Hatchet Survival Guide Poster Project

Student will give a 2 minute minimum speech. This is your first speech and will be graded lightly in comparison to future speeches.

Students will read a full book of poetry for a poet of choice and research the poet's life. As they get an idea of the writer's style, they'll produce two poems that use elements of this style. They will also write a poem analysis. Finally they'll present their discoveries in an oral presentation.

Students will give a persuasive speech to their peers. They will be assessed on content and delivery.

You will give a 5 minute minimum speech identifying propaganda in print, television, or other media advertisement. Use facts to substantiate (support) your position. Make sure you have a solid introduction, body, and conclusion following the outline format already provided. Your theme should be consistent throughout your presentation. Identification of how connotation was used in the propaganda found should also be noted and discussed thoroughly.
