Tutorial - Create a Basic Web Page:

This short tutorial shows the steps to create a basic web page. In this tutorial you'll learn how to:


Invoke the online page editor:

To edit a web page please click on create web page or revise this page to enter the edit mode



Enter basic text:

A web page is a document and will be saved into your document center.

1. Enter "home page" in the Title box. This is not displayed to others.

2. Description is not required and is not displayed to others.

3. Enter "Welcome to my site" in the document content area.




Change text color:

1. Select (or highlight) the text you entered earlier.

2. Click on Text Color icon.


The Select Color" dialog box will open.

3. Select a text color.

4. Click on OK to accept this color.





Change text format:

With the text still selected:

1. Click on Bold.

2. Click on Center.

Change text size:

With the text still selected:

1. Click on Size drop-down menu.

2. Select large.

Create a link:



1. Press Enter twice to start a new paragraph, type the link text (e.g. Book Exchange) and select the link text.

2. Click on Insert/Edit Link.




The link dialog box will open:

3. Enter the web address or URL (e.g. http://www.tbxn.com) in URL box.

4. Click on OK.





The link is created, but won't be active until the document is saved.





Insert an Image:



1. Position the cursor above the link. You are going to insert an image here.

2. Select Insert/Edit Image icon.




The Insert Image dialog box will open:

3. Click on Browse and select an image from your computer.

4. Click on Send it to the server.





NOTE:At this point you may or may not be asked to login. If you are asked to login, please do, and close the login screen, then click on Send it to the server again.





5. You should see the selected image in the Preview box. Click on OK.





At this point, the uploaded image should be embedded in the page.




Save your work:

You're almost done. Just remember to click on save to save your work.




If the login screen shows up, it means your session has expired. Just login again and you'll be done.
