Some helpful hints for your take home quizzes:

  • Remember, there is a difference between "the" and "a/an."  Also, there is a masculine and a feminine form of each of these, AND a plural for all of them as well!  Don't get caught!

  • Connecting words are so very important.  Encima ___, debajo ___, dentro ___.  Don't forget the word that needs to be in the blank!

  • Go over your verbs!  What is "in"? "Under"? "On"? "Inside"?  These are all different.

  • If you are having trouble pronouncing a word in Spanish, find your Spanish pronunciation guide and sound it out, just like young children do when they are learning how to read.

  • There are tildes (~) ONLY on the letter "n"!  Vowels use accent marks (ex: á, é, í, ó, ú)

  • Adjectives come after nouns in Spanish, which is the opposite than in English.

  • "Es" and "está" both mean is, but they are different!  Es is permanent, está is temporary. Make sure to make the distinction between the two!  Remember, there is a plural form of each!
