Getting to Know Your English Teacher:

Experience: 

This is my eleventh year teaching at Evergreen Junior High School.  I am certified in secondary English education, and I have a Master’s in reading curriculum and instruction.  In 2006, I achieved National Board Certification, which is a national voluntary system that certifies teachers who meet advance standards to improve the quality of teaching and learning.  I am proud to say I am one of the 34 National Board Certified teachers in our school district. 

Personal:

I was born and raised in Houma, and I even attended school and classes in the same school and classroom that I teach in now.

I have been happily married for four years.  My husband is the head football coach at Terrebonne High School.  We are expecting our first baby in December ‘07 and are both very excited about this special milestone.  My favorite pastimes include reading, scrap booking, and traveling.  My favorite vacation spots include Walt Disney World and Gatlinburg, TN.  I love teaching English at the middle school level, and I couldn’t imagine teaching any other grade!
