E-Portfolio for Experiential Learning Scholars Program (EXL)

I am graduating December 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State Univeristy. I chose nursing after working at a camp for mentally and physically disabled children and adults. Working as a counselor, I was inspired to continue to help others outside of the camping experience. I want to be a Medical-Surgical Nurse for about a year and gain experience. After a year I plan to seek a job in an Emergency Department or as a Travel Nurse. I believe that the core of nursing is helping people and the focus is being present for the patient and providing the care they need. It is not necessarily treating an illness but treating the preson.
