Sociology 101 is a class that focuses on the patterns of behavior. When taking sociology you are looking at what is familiar to you in a problem and standing back and really looking at it. Through this class I have learned that you look more into the situation rather than just looking at what caused the problem as a whole. We are taught that sociologists are more interested in what is generalizable. While attending sociology 101 you will learn very interesting facts about people and how they react to changes in the world. I believe that this class is a good class to take if you are a person who is interested in learning ideas and theories about how people work and about how the world works.

     Throughout the semester in sociology, we are required to write five essays. One of the essays that I found was an interesting essay was an essay where we had to reflect on the quote “I am the sculptor. I am the clay.” When reflecting back on this essay I believe that writing on this topic was beneficial because it makes you sit back and think about when you are sculpting other people and making impacts on their lives as well as thinking about when you are the clay and being molded by others to make you into the person you are today. This essay really made me think about how everything in life impacts you whether it be beneficial to me or whether it be non-beneficial. After writing this essay, I realized how much of an impact I make on other people as well as that there are many other people impacting my life and that could benefit me to go down the right roads or if they are people who are impacting my life in a bad way, they could possibly be leading me down the wrong road. So if I keep my mind on track and make the right decisions, hopefully I will impact people in a positive way and hopefully other people will impact me the same beneficial way.
