Dear Mr. Nixon:

Your advertisement in the May 12th Washington Times for a Foreign Service Officer has come to my attention. I am currently an Immigrant Program Coordinator at Baltimore Mayor’s Office and would like to be considered for the position.

As the accompanying resume indicates, I have five years working as an interpreter/translator and several years of experience working in the International Relations arena. My previous positions in Foreign Relations and Foreign Languages fields have given me a specialized background in this area. Therefore, with my intensive knowledge of foreign languages and great international experience, I am confident I will be an asset to your organization.

In addition to my experience, I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Foreign Languages and Translation from Odessa National University. I was ranked as first student in my class and graduated with honors. As my resume reflects, I will receive my second Master’s of Arts Degree in International Relations from American University, School of International Service in 2010. I am presently ranked fourth in my graduating class.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss my qualifications for the position of the Foreign Service Officer with you during a personal interview. If an interview is possible, please contact me during the day at 410- 948- 6373 or after 6:00 at 410-337-8965.

Sincerely,

Anna White
