Professionalism

Professionalism is a very important part of the dental hygiene profession.  At the RCC dental hygiene program professionalism must be practiced on a daily basis.  All patient interactions must take place in designated patient care areas and kept confidential and at the same time a faculty member must be informed so that proper supervision can take place.  In addition all signatures and entries in patient charts must be authentic, legible and accurate and all charts must be returned to the receptionist area when not needed and can never be removed from campus.  Professional behavior is also expected of each student at all times.  Correct clinic attire must be worn when patient care is involved and clinic hours must be respected and patients can not be worked on until faculty is advised and approves the stated procedure.  I am able to utilize this because professionalism is a huge part of being successful in a professional program.  And this must be practiced on a daily basis.
