The RCC competencies are what I must strive to accomplish while attending the RCC Dental Hygiene Program. I will act as a professional at all times while on clinic, as well as, outside of school. I plan to provide the best of care to all individuals young and old, medically compromised or not. I will evaluate each patient using the ADHA code of ethics and the C.A.R.E. policy giving each an individualized and humane treatment. I will be ready for any medical emergency that may arrive, however I will do my best to prohibit those emergencies from taking place. I will educate my patients on the important of oral health care and disease prevention. I will take what I learn in my didactic courses and implement it into my clinical sessions. I feel these competencies should not only be used for the next year and a half, but should also be applied throughout my career as a dental hygienist.
