Accomplishments

 

In high school I was a Varsity cheerleader, secretary of the Spanish Club, involved in talent and fashion shows, and volunteered at numerous events. I was also a member of the Vocation Industrial Clubs of America (VICA), in which our team placed at State and National Competitions in Parliamentary Procedures. I was nominated "Most Dependable" by the senior student body at my graduating high school. I also initiated the first Black History Program at my graduating high school. I also received various scholarships to aid in my education. Involved in various activities in life has molded me into an active individual who is always striving to go above and beyond.

 

I have received numerous awards and recognition during my tenure in Health Information Management (HIM). I served on various boards and planning committees, which have given me leadership skills for management. Currently I am a member of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organizations (JCAHO) Improvement Committee for HIM at University of Maryland Medical Center. I am also a member of the Employee Survey Team, where our goal is to improve working relationships between management and employees. Achieving many accomplishments in Health Information Management has given me the opportunity gain a variety of skills and the experience necessary to reach my goals.
